Questions

The things people ask.

Short answers. If yours is not here, call (949) 230-3866.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. CSLB license #1157116, classification C-51 Structural Steel, current and active. We carry $2,000,000 in general liability, workers' compensation, a $25,000 contractor's bond, and a $100,000 LLC worker bond. Certificate of insurance and W-9 available on request. Additional insured endorsement per your subcontract. You can verify the license yourself at cslb.ca.gov.

Do you work as a subcontractor to general contractors?

Yes, and that is most of the work. We take structural steel scopes as a sub: erection, field welding, fabrication, moment frames, embeds, and misc metals, all self-performed. Send the structural sheets and we will price the scope. The licence, insurance, and bid details an estimator needs are on the page for general contractors.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in San Clemente and most of our work is South Orange County: Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, and Rancho Santa Margarita. We travel across the rest of the county for the right job.

Do you do residential moment frames?

Yes, and it is a lot of what we do. A moment frame is the steel that carries a wide opening without a wall in the middle of it. Send the structural sheets and the frame schedule and we will price it.

Can you weld on site, or does everything go to a shop?

On site. The rig is on the truck. Field welding, cutting, coping, and drilling all happen where the steel is, which is what keeps a job moving when a member turns up wrong.

Will your welds pass special inspection?

That is the standard we work to. Our responsible managing employee holds the C-51 qualification, is on the job rather than on the paperwork, and we schedule around the special inspector so the connection is seen while it is still open.

How do I get a price?

Send the plan sheet, or text a photo for the mobile work. For structural scopes the drawings tell us most of what we need. We will tell you when you will have a number rather than guessing at a turnaround.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes. One frame, one dropped beam, or a punch list weld is a normal call. Small structural scopes are the ones most erectors will not mobilize for, and they are normal work here.
